Gift Planning

Thank you for your interest in providing for the future of The Citadel.  Our commitment is to serve you by providing helpful information on the beneficial interface between your financial planning and your philanthropy.  We encourage you to learn how an increasing number of alumni, parents, and friends have made their own gifts, to help you identify the best strategy for making your own wishes for The Citadel's future come true.

This website is designed for you, so please visit often and be sure to sign up for our complimentary weekly e-newsletter.  All gifts to The Citadel Foundation provide the donor with the personal satisfaction of supporting a worthwhile cause.  And please share this website with your own professional advisors as you discuss your retirement, estate, and gift plans with them.

Focusing on the Citadel Family

Here you can learn how donors have provided for The Citadel while benefiting themselves at the same time.  The gift plans featured below have given useful benefits for donors as well as for The Citadel. Many alumni, parents, and friends are enjoying increased income and generous tax savings from their generosity. You might start by meeting these friends. Just click on the picture of your choice to view each story.

Generous IRA Gift
Ed Goldenberg '54 built a successful business with thoughtful planning and investment. When the time came for him to consider how best to give back to The Citadel, he designed, with the help of The Citadel Foundation staff, a gift plan that will ultimately provide a major gift to the School of Business Administration's Dean's Excellence Fund, an endowed fund providing valuable support for the school's academic programs. Walter Kunze and his wife, Frances, have alway had a great deal of respect for The Citadel, so when he was invited to consider how to give back, he found an appealing way to provide lasting support for his alma mater. Together, they decided to give a parcel of real estate to The Citadel Foundation in exchange for a life income gift through a Charitable Gift Annuity. More on Peace of Mind Gift Annuity >>.
